Posted November 01, 2018 17:02:47 A father is speaking out about the controversy surrounding his son Colin Kaepernick and the parents of the two-time NFL star.
Kaepernick’s father, Joe, is a former NFL quarterback and current FOX Sports commentator.
He is also a high-profile social media celebrity.
Mr Kaepernick’s son, who has not been identified, is not the same age as his father, but Mr Kaepernick’s daughter, who is his mother, is.
Both have the same surname, Kaepernick, which is the same as the former 49ers quarterback’s father.
The controversy began when the 49ers star said in an interview with The Daily Beast that he was “not proud of” his dad’s comments and said his father was “the most amazing human being I have ever met”.
The father has also said his son “was born without legs” and said that he would “never” have “the courage” to speak out against Kaepernick.
Kerrigan and her husband, former NFL wide receiver Michael Crabtree, have been outspoken in their support of Kaepernick and his stance.
“He is a proud American,” Kerrigan told the New York Daily News.
“But there is a lot of people who don’t support Colin.
They have no right to.
They are not America.”‘
My son is a hero’In a statement released on Sunday, Kerrigan said she was “deeply moved” by the father’s comments.
“The statement of my son, a hero, who never stood up to bullies, never fought for something he didn’t believe in and never put anyone else in danger was an extraordinary statement of love and compassion for my son,” Kerrigans statement read.
“As a father, I’m deeply moved to hear his words.
My son is my son and we are all a family.
We will never let Colin down and I’m grateful for the outpouring of support we’ve received from across the country and around the world.”
Kerrigans statements came a day after the former NFL star posted a picture on Instagram of himself with his wife, Kim, in Los Angeles.
“My heart is broken.
My heart is breaking,” Kaepernick wrote.”
I am so proud of my wife and my son.
Thank you for standing with me and supporting me during the darkest moments of my life.
I am so thankful.
I love you.”
Kaepernick later apologized for his comments and called them “sad”.
“This is the reality of my situation and it was not right.
It was not something I would have said, but I am not the person I am today,” Kaepernick said.”
It is not right and I apologize.
And the only thing we can control is the people that are rooting for us. “
The only thing that matters is the team.
I am sorry.”
